Amaranto is considered by
some as the original agricultural cereal product of the Incas,

Quinua (kee-nu-wa) is an indigenous
grain of The Andes. It is used especially as a human food source
and has been found to have minor medicinal uses.Quinua can be
used in many different forms - ground to flour, puffed (like
popcorn) and in some products processed into pastes. The whole
grain can be prepared like oatmeal or mixed into chocolate bars.
The by-products of quinua
cultivation is used as cattle food and and burned for fuel. Quinua
